A Few Special Days . . .

It was a weekend long Valentine celebration here in the McDonagh/Valentine house.  Mr. Valentine and I had a wonderful and much needed date night on Saturday.  Dinner was delicious.  Probably one of the best restaurant meals we've both had in a very long time.  We ate at a little place called the Canterbury Brook Inn.  Now you know it has to be incredibly charming with a name like that!!  The restaurant is filled with several small rooms that make things a little more intimate and less noisy.  We ate in a room with a fireplace and candles were lit on every table.  The wind was blowing like crazy and it was a not so balmy two degrees outside which made it all the more cozy inside.  We skipped dessert because we were both so stuffed.  We also skipped the movie we had planned on seeing (not many good choices right now) and instead did a little shopping for Miss Megan's 100th Day of School celebration.

The kindergartners were asked to dress up like little old people as part of the 100th day of school festivities.  We found some pearls and faux glasses and some clothes on the clearance rack in Bon Ton's.  Added some red lipstick and powder in her hair and voila!!  Too cute!!!

It was absolutely adorable to see all of the kindergartners lined up at the fence at the start of school!!  There were gray wigs and canes and over-sized church hats and purses.  I'm going to disregard the fact that Megan told me she could wear some of my things to make her look like an old lady.  She's lucky she's cute.  : )

Many blessings on this beautiful Thursday!!  ~ Wendy

Now that sounds like a perfect Valentine's Day celebration....even though it was only two degrees outside!

Miss Megan is too adorable in those glasses! And doesn't the cute one get away with things like suggesting she use your clothes....

Oh my gosh, she looks so adorable! And glasses definitely suit her!

Sounds like a lovely Valentine's Day, indeed! Isn't it lovely to no longer be dealing with such cold temps?!

We've been busy too and are getting ready or Miss Emma Faith's eighth birthday tomorrow! How is it possible my baby turns eight?! Time has gone by far too fast!xo
