I told my husband the other day how I've noticed when the leaves get to the peak of their color changing in the fall there is always (or at least in the last few years) some kind of wind/rain storm that takes them all down off of the trees. This year is no different. We've had the remnants of Hurricane Patricia coming thru here for the last 36 hours. Yesterday it was rain and today it is wind. It's a very balmy 70 something degrees here in New York. It's three days away from November. I have flip flops on. Need I say more? : )
Thankfully I grabbed my camera the other day and drove around my neighborhood for a while and took lots of photos of the beauty that surrounds us this time of the year. It's still so beautiful but the wind and rain has taken its toll.
We are so blessed to live in such a pretty part of New York. We're only about a half hour north of downtown Manhattan (depending upon traffic) and a half hour south from the rolling hills and farms of the lower edge of what people call "upstate" New York. Our new home is located about 35 minutes north of where we are now and I can't tell you how excited I am to have such a beautiful town to photograph. I already have a list a mile long of what I want to share!! Speaking of which, we should be getting a closing date any day now. What a waiting game it is to buy a house!!! : (
Just a few more . . .
And finally, one that I captured while pulled over on the side of the road because I saw them coming towards me . . .
The colors and the light this time of the year are just so beautiful. We turn the clocks back this weekend and I kind of feel like it's the end of the season of light. Kind of ironic, huh??
Tonight I'm venturing out to my friend Saskia's day spa in lovely Piermont, NY. This adorable little town on the Hudson River began hosting a "Girls' Night Out" a couple of times a year. She's offering mini massages and readings with a Medium. My appointment with the Medium is at 7 tonight. I'll let you know how it goes. : )
Many blessings ~ Wendy

oh these are such beautiful colors! happy friday!
The colors this autumn have been absolutely spectacular (and truly this may be one of the best autumns ever and that's saying a lot since I absolutely adore this season)!
The pictures you took are stunning!
Happy Halloween! xo
Ah! You have so many utterly gorgeous photos here! I love the brilliant fall colors, and you captured them beautifully. I have been so surprised what wonderful weather we've been enjoying here in Iowa. Here it is, November 2nd, and today I was out in my shirt-sleeves, and my windows were open. A couple years ago it was snowing in October. I guess we're just really blessed to be able to enjoy the autumnal scenery in summer weather.
Congrats on your new home!
Wendy, your fall photos are gorgeous! I never get tired of the colors and I admit I DO miss raking leaves!
We've had a crazy warm fall here too. Rain is predicted for tomorrow, so my fingers are crossed!
How was the Girl's Night Out? The reading with a medium sounds interesting!
