Here in New York, our hearts are heavy with the loss of two of our
NYPD officers that were killed while sitting in their patrol car eating
lunch. They were killed simply because of their uniforms. Our country
is in turmoil unlike anything I've ever seen in my lifetime. I have
many friends that are members of the NYPD. A life long friend of mine
is a sergeant. His wife posted on Facebook this morning that their
youngest son cried himself to sleep last night worrying that his dad
wasn't going to come home from work. Another Facebook friend posted
yesterday that her son was friends with the son of the officer that was
killed in Florida. Seven children lost their father this weekend. My
heart is broken for all of them.
I'm
sorry this post isn't light and airy today but I just didn't have it in
me to pretend everything is okay. I feel so helpless thinking about
the world my children are living in and what is yet to come. What
upsets me even more is that my older kids are already so used to how bad
things are getting that they don't even see that there's a problem. So very sad to me. : (
Many blessings for a peaceful and safe and beautiful day ~ Wendy
