Sunday Sayings . . .

This quote really made me think.  I know that I've been having my own personal struggles with the idea of being at middle age when, in my mind, I'm only 22!!  : )  I joke but there really is some truth to that. A lot of truth to that, actually.   I always had my differences with my parents while growing up.  I think it's just human nature to put them up on a pedestal and then to feel disappointment when they don't live up to your super high expectations of them.

So important.

And then one day it dawns on you . . .  they're just human beings that are going thru the same struggles you are.  And, if you're like me, the added struggle of wondering if you're doing the best job you can be doing raising your own children.

There is so much more I want to write about this but I'll save that for another day.  Right now, there are more pressing matters to attend to.  My daughter is calling me to watch her dance in her sparkly new shoes and I don't want to disappoint her.  Afterall, I'm still up on that pedestal as far as she's concerned and I'd like to stay there a bit longer before reality kicks in.  : )

Many blessings for a beautiful Sunday and a wonderful week to come ~ Wendy

So true....we do forget our parents are people too. People who question, who struggle, who don't always have the right answer.

Great post. Now go enjoy the sparkly shoe dancer!

Good, good post. Caught between being a parent and really appreciating our parents--that is a lot to think about. Hope you have a nice Thanksgiving!

This is another wonderful quote! I'm in this very situation myself since my parents are now in their 80's. It's as if they get older and slower each year! It's hard to see, actually.
