A Day in NYC . . .

Last week, we ventured into Manhattan to visit a life-long friend who was in the hospital for a few days after having back surgery.  It was a gorgeous day and I haven't walked around Manhattan in such a long time.  It truly is a picture taker's dream!!!

Going over the George Washington Bridge.
I didn't notice the plane when I took this shot.  Kinda cool.  : )

This is a giant billboard along the Westside Highway.  This company always has the best ad campaigns!!

Normally, when we go anywhere I drive.  I'm one of those people who loves to drive.  Plus, I have a tendency to get car sickness if I'm a passenger.  I've had it since I was a kid and unfortunately never grew out of it.  : (    But I wanted to take pics and that's pretty much impossible (and probably illegal!!) to do while driving so my husband took over.  He works in Manhattan and knows it like the back of his hand.

A couple of photos that I took from the passenger seat:

This was a beautiful window display that we passed.  The glare from the scaffolding on the building across the street was pretty bad but I thought the colors were so beautiful that I couldn't resist.
Welcome to NYC!!!  LOL!!!  Another thing that I didn't notice when I took the photo was a not so appropriate expletive.  Thankfully, I figured out how to make it more reader friendly!!!  : )

Springtime in Manhattan!!!!!

We had the perfect day.  We found a parking spot right next to my husband's office building which, he said, is unheard of at that time of the day.  We made a pit stop to see his office since I'd never been there before and, of course, he wanted to show off his daughter.  : )  We got a bite to eat at this little hole in the wall eatery that served one of the best burgers I've had in years.  Then we walked to the hospital to see my friend, Stacey.  We were all set to have Jim stay in the lobby with Megan because we thought for sure they wouldn't let any kids up on the floors but, unbeknownst to us, it was BRING YOUR CHILD TO WORK DAY!!!  Woohoo!!!!  There were kids walking all around and the lady at the reception desk didn't even bat an eyelash!!!  Don't you just love when things work out like that??  That's the Universe working its magic!!!  : )

The view from Stacey's hospital room.  That's the Empire State Building in case you weren't sure.  We kinda got in trouble for opening the window to take this photo.  We didn't know we weren't supposed to open the window.  Honestly!!!!!  : )

There was a wonderful little park right next to the hospital and it was filled with kids and their nannies (again, welcome to New York!!) enjoying the beautiful day.

Trying to get a closer look at the flowers.

Megan loves to be outdoors and loves to be with nature.  She did a lot of walking that day.  We brought her stroller with us but she walked most of the time.  She was a happy girl!!!!

You can't do a post about NYC and not include a photo of a pigeon!!!!  : )

Tomorrow I'm going to post some photos I took of the absolutely gorgeous architecture near the Gramercy Park area of Manhattan which is where we were most of the day.  I promise you won't be disappointed!!  : )

Many blessings for a beautiful Wednesday ~ Wendy

A truly beautiful post, I have been to New York several times but never seem to catch the essence of the City on camera. Looking forward to your next post. Have a great week.

Great photo journey to NYC! I was there, once, as a teenager. It was a long, (long, long), time ago. I never forgot what a beautiful city it was/is!

Hi Wendy,
These photos are so beautiful. Just wondered--do you use some type of Actions on your photos? If so, which ones? I am thinking of getting a set for editing my photos.
