Welcome October!!! . . .

Jim and I ran a bunch of errands today.  I'm wearing jeans, socks and clogs for the first time since April.  This will be my uniform most days until probably next April and I LOVE it because it means . . .

 :

HURRAY!!!!  It's going to be such a busy October for us.  I realized the other day that most of my fall/Halloween decorations are packed away in the pod for our move later this month but I had to at least have an autumnal (love that word!!!) wreath on the front door.  I hated spending the money knowing there was a beautiful one in the pod but I couldn't resist.

I found it in The Christmas Tree Store.  Nothing too fancy or too expensive.  I did find a crow in the garage that hadn't yet been packed so I stuck him by the front walkway with a little pumpkin that I picked up at the grocery store.

This is my favorite time of the year and Halloween is my favorite holiday.  Right now it looks like we'll be moving either the third or fourth week in October which means I won't be able to decorate the way I like to for this time of the year but I'm going to make the most of it.  The good news is that we should be settled in our new house in time for Christmas decorating. I have so many things that I've collected throughout the years and from when I used to do in-home decorating parties.  I'll have a lot more space to decorate so I'll finally be able to use things that have been packed away in bins in the garage for years.  We also have a fireplace in our new house which means I'll have a mantel to decorate.  : )  I was on Pinterest looking at mantel decorating ideas.  I thought I'd share a few of my favorites for the fall.

Fall mantel:
I think I'd use Bittersweet on the mantel instead of the ivy.  Ivy isn't really my taste anymore.

I love this with candles.

I could go on and on with all of these Pinterest pins!!!  They are just so darn addictive, aren't they???

Happy and safe weekend to you all.  We've dodged a bullet named Hurricane Joaquin here in New York.  There's still rain and wind but nothing like it would've been in the next few days if the storm hadn't taken a different turn.  I guess the weather goddesses are shining down upon us!!!  : )
