Friday Already . . .

It's been a whirlwind of a week around here for sure!!  We bought our Christmas tree last weekend but have been too busy to do more then just set it up in its stand.  I did, however, find time to decorate the mantel this week and we had our first fire in our new house.

Tonight is a quiet night of staying in and decorating the tree and dining on some of the many leftovers in the refrigerator.  Tomorrow night we're going out to dinner to celebrate our son Brendan's birthday.  He will officially be 14 at 10:29 tonight.  So hard to believe.  I remember it like it was yesterday.  My water broke while attending our middle son's winter concert at his school.  Without going into great detail, I had a heck of a bag of water.  Lol!!!

Brendan is my third born son.  He is my old soul.  He is my voracious reader.  He makes me laugh constantly.  He is a loyal friend and a wonderful brother and I am so very proud to be his mom.  : )

Brendan, age 3.

Tomorrow I'll be volunteering my photography skills for our local animal shelter.  I've taken photos for them in the past and this year they've asked me to be their photographer for their "Santa Paws is Coming to Town" fundraiser.  I get to take photos of people's pets sitting on Santa's lap!!!  I can't begin to tell you how excited I am to be doing this!!!  I'll let you know how it goes.  : )

Many blessings for a happy and peaceful weekend ~ Wendy

Belated birthday wishes, hope he had a wonderful day and that you managed to get the tree decorated. Sounds like great fun taking photos of pets with Santa, good luck.

Hi Wendy!
Yes, Brendan is a star!
So glad he is a reader too.

Good to hear from you in comments on my blog.
Yes, wonderfully - but weirdly - warm!
Hope your family are settling happily in your new home?
Hope you have a most wonderful Christmas.

Please send your mailing address. I'd love to send you a copy of my little book
as I have quite a few at home and I think you would enjoy it.

It's partly a memoir of where I grew up
but also an adventure story. The places are all real
All the people are real Jane (me) Ian (my brother Peter)
TheBoysNextDoor, Ivy.
Its themes are pretty moral -
a) it's horrid being left out
b) family is super important
c) Christmas is a time when even bad people get to try a bit harder!

You must let me know what you think of it.

Cheers
