Down by the Stream . . .

We're enjoying way above average temps for this time of the year.  The snow is melting at a rapid pace.  Our windows are open today and the heat is turned off.  I can hear the birds chatting happily and saw some little wrens collecting fallen decorative grass from our back yard presumably for their nests.  Our chocolate lab is not very happy that his patches of snow to roll around in are in short supply now.  I'm not sure how long this is going to last being that March is known to come in like a lion but, for now, we're enjoying it.  Jim even walked Megan to school today, meeting a few friends along the way.  I'm starting to feel the urge to bring a big load of donations to the local thrift store again.  Spring cleaning is definitely in the air!!

To all of my friends across the pond, you are in my thoughts and prayers as you struggle with Storm Doris and her aftermath.  Be safe!!  xo

Storm Doris hit with a vengeance but nothing like the devastation that hit your Country. A tree hit my daughters car but thankfully they are safe. We have had damage to the gate and post and the shed door, we are safe which is all that matters.

thank you for stopping by my blog....
your landscape looks wonderful, a bit fairyland, well sometimes, this is really needed to keep sane, i feel like. a bit of an escape from the reality of this world.
never mind, about the pine cone use, we mostly use them as fire starter all year long, as soon as they are dried up, it works well.

It all looks so clean and fresh. I know what you mean about the spring cleaning thing. Somehow it seems to be programmed within us, I have been eyeing my wardrobe and assessing what can be given to the charity shops. We have bright sunshine now and my mind has turned to cleaning windows and blinds, I feel a real need to do that even as part of me is protesting and saying that I should go out and enjoy the weather!

Oh what a beautiful stream, to have near enough, to visit!!!!! I love streams of all sorts. :-)

Here, we are being teased by warmer weather. But we know, it is only a tease. Winter will return. And that's just the way it is.

Beautiful snowy shots in the woods! Great to hear that the birds are already nesting in your area.

Love that third photo. The woods is always so magical when the snow sparkles between the trees....
Not that we have trees or snow out here, but there you've gone and made me homesick for WI again!
