Six Months Later . . .

I hadn't really planned on writing here today but, lo and behold, here I am.  Instagram is where I've been hanging out these last six months.  Truth is, I've been thinking about some of my favorite bloggers that I've met thru the years and wondering how they're doing.  I've noticed some of them on Instagram as well now.  Seems to be the thing to do.

These two have been building sand castles together for half their lives now.  : )

Best friends since they were two.  : )

I feel so blessed to say that things have been going well.  A few changes.  Mostly good ones. The kids are all happy and healthy.   Family dynamics are changing.  Son #1 moved to New Hampshire at the beginning of the year after receiving a great job offer.  It's tough not being able to see him when I want to but I know he's happy and that makes me happy too.  His girlfriend also found a job in Massachusetts so they're just an hour and a half from each other and planning on moving in together when both of their leases are up.  Probably going to settle in Mass.

Roots and wings.  Roots and wings.  💕

We spent a week in North Carolina at the beginning of July.  We stayed on Top Sail Island again.  We had visited there two years ago but only for two nights and really fell in love with it.  It's our paradise!  Son #2 couldn't join us this year due to his work schedule.  This worked out well for son #3 and Megan though.  They each got to bring a friend along.

Brendan and Jakhai.

Meg and Cybele.

My honey would move there tomorrow if we could.  I could definitely get used to the lifestyle but not quite ready for that yet.  Maybe when Megan is headed for college.  There are some great colleges in NC.  I really don't like to look that far ahead quite honestly.

One day at a time.  : )

Soaking up the sun.

These guys were taking crackers right out of our hands!!

Huge fishing bridge next to the Inn where we stayed.

I have to admit, it's nice to sit at the computer and blog again.  Not sure if anybody still remembers me though.  Lol!!  I also look forward to catching up here in blog land and hope all is well with everyone!!

Some Tennessee Memories . . . On the Farm and in the Garden

Yes, I'm still sharing photos from our early July vacation down south.  These are a few from Tennessee when we visited Jim's friend and his family and all of their wonderful animals.  There are also a few from my mother and father in-laws' gardens and fruit trees.   We had such a wonderful time.  My brother in law just got engaged so I'm thinking we'll probably be visiting again sometime in the not-too-distant future.  : )

Happy Tuesday y'all!! ~ Wendy  xo

This {Favorite Summer} Moment . . .

Jim and Megan riding the swings in Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, TN.  I don't know who had more fun!!!  : )

It is hotter than blazes here in New York today and not supposed to break until Sunday!!  Have a wonderful and safe weekend!!!  xo

Starr's Mill . . .

On our way to Senoia, we passed this gorgeous red building that looked like an old barn with the prettiest waterfall next to it.  I knew I had to stop on the way back and get a closer look.  It turned out to be an old mill from the 1800's.

I fell in love with everything about it!!  The perfect location to visit on a hot Georgia day!!  These three ladies thought so too.  : )

Can we get a little privacy??

I guess we'll be on our way then.  Lol!!

At the base of the waterfall there were lots of people with shovels and bowls.  At first, Megan and I thought they might be panning for gold (really we did.  Not sure what normally goes on in Georgia!!).

Upon further investigation . . .

we discovered it was clams they were digging for!!  Lots of them too!!

Our stop at Starr's Mill was one of my favorite stops on our vacation.  I swear I could've taken a thousand photos there alone!!  I honestly didn't have any idea that I'd love Georgia as much as I did.  If it wasn't so darn hot and I wasn't such a New York girl I might even think about moving there when the kids are all grown.  : )

 Next stop . . .  Tennessee!!!

Happy Thursday y'all!!  ~ Wendy

Glimpses of Georgia and Feeling Blessed . . .

Notice the two vultures sitting on top of this old house.

They were still sitting in the same spot an hour later when we drove past the house again.

The BEST southern food, buffet style!!!

A gorgeous Georgia sunset.

It's so crazy to me that our trip down south seems like a distant memory already.  Thankfully I have so many photos to look back on.  I took almost 1500 of them!!  : )  I'm going to go thru them and print some out and finally hang some photos around the house.  I haven't really hung much on the walls since we moved in because my plan was to decorate with my photos.  Being the great procrastinator that I am, that hasn't happened yet.  But it will.  I always feel the urge to fluff my nest (read this someplace and loved it!!) at the first hint of fall.  I heard that the Farmer's Almanac is predicting an Indian Summer but a very cold and snowy winter.  Winter pretty much skipped by us last year with maybe one or two days of being snowed in for the day.  August has been a hot and humid month here in New York.  I'm ready for crisp fall air and clogs and boots again!!  It's been a wonderful summer for us.  We've become very close with a fantastic family in our new home town and that has made all the difference for us.  We've pretty much spent at least part of every day with them.  It's not very easy to find people that are pushing 50 and have a six year old!!!  But we did and we're blessed!!!  : )

Happy Monday to you!! ~ Wendy
