A Day Well Spent . . .

Yesterday was my cousin Heather's graduation party. Heather and her older sister, Ashley, are two of my most favorite people and I adore them!! I remember when each of them was born. It seems like only yesterday. Now they're both women. Where does the time go?!!? I love to spend time with the two of them and hear what's going on in their life. I love that they both talk to me and don't see me as their "boring older cousin." They both have very different personalities. They are very close in age. I think about 15 months apart, if I remember correctly. Just thinking about the two of them makes me laugh!!

We had such a great time at the party. We saw lots of family that we haven't seen in a while. My husband said he can't believe he's still meeting cousins!! : ) I get the feeling that there is a renewed sense of how important family is for all of us. Sudden losses and quickly passing years have shown us all how precious life is and that nothing is promised. You just never know if, when you say goodbye to a loved one, it's going to be the last time you see them or hug them. Unfortunately, that's how life works and there isn't a family that's immune to it. I think everyone left the party with a sense of gratitude for being able to share laughter, love and time with each other. I know I did.

Many blessings ~ Wendy

Spending time with family is time well spent (most of the time anyway, lol). I'm glad you had a nice time and that Jim got to meet more of your family. BTW - Laura says hi.
