Do these Shoes Match My Purse aka Does this Cast Match My Car . . .

I got a text from my mother yesterday telling me that, while walking one of her dogs, she stepped the wrong way and turned in her foot and felt something tear (I'm sure you just grimaced the way I did at that word!!)and now she couldn't walk on it. We had just spent the previous week in the hospital with a big scare for my sister who is fine now. THANK YOU, GOD. Needless to say, the last thing she wanted to do was go back to the hospital. My mother is so good at taking care of all of us and being there for us when we're experiencing "technical difficulties" :) but puts herself on the back burner sometimes for fear of sounding like she's complaining too much. It stems from her childhood, I'm sure, but that is a WHOLE other story and, all things considered, not wanting to sound like a complainer is not so bad. So, long story short, she went to an Orthopedic doctor in lieu of the Emergency Room. It turns out, she broke her foot and is now sporting a maroon colored cast. She got to pick the color and is happy because it matches her car. Yes, that is my mother. For all that she's been thru in her life, she still keeps her sense of humor and her sense for fashion. : )

Many blessings ~ Wendy

P.S. The picture above is the view from my sister's hospital room. The sky was a brilliant shade of blue that day!!

Wow! I almost wouldn't mind being in the hospital if I had that beautiful sky to look at. Hope your mom heals fast - LOL about the maroon cast!

Your poor mum. At least she is keeping positive and enjoying her splash of colour!

Having worked as a nurse in many big city hospitals with views of traffic I LOVE that I now work in a small hospital with views of gum trees and a lake. I'm sure it helps people feel better about being is hospital when they can look out the window at a beautiful view.
