A New Teenager and a Belated Sunday Saying . . .

This month of December is coming and going so quickly.  I've been battling bronchitis for a couple of weeks. My cough is much better but my energy level is taking its sweet time to return.  Not exactly the best time of the year for this but slow and steady still crosses the finish line, doesn't it?  : )

 On a brighter note . . .

We have a new teenager in the house!!  Brendan turned thirteen on December 11th.  We had an early celebration at Nana's house with the cousins last weekend, complete with Sunday dinner and ice cream cake.  For his birthday dinner on the 11th, he requested  linguini with clam sauce, Texas Toast and caesar salad.  That's my boy!!  Lol!!  For dessert, he requested a chocolate layer cake with sprinkles on top.

Tomorrow night we have our third celebration at Red Lobster.  Every year, this is his restaurant of choice for his birthday.  We don't mind.  Have you ever tried their cheesy biscuits??  YUM!!!!  Connor will be home from college tomorrow so the whole family will be together.  This makes my heart smile!!!!  : )

On a different note, last week a friend of mine posted a quote on Facebook that was an "aha moment" for me.

I wanted to post this yesterday for the Sunday Saying.  Better late than never, right?  After all, slow and steady still crosses the finish line.  : )

Many blessings for a peaceful Monday ~ Wendy

Happiest birthday to your newest teen! May this next year be his best yet!

I am so sorry to hear that you've been battling bronchitis. I had it recently too, stuck around for about a month and is still somewhat here, sadly. Hope you are feeling better soon! xo
