Spriiiing . . .

. . .  come out, come out, wherever you are!!!  Holy macaroni it's cold here today!!!  Megan and I had to be out of the house at 11:15 this morning and it was still in the 30's here in New York.  She had a  lacrosse event to attend a town over from us at a college called Mt. Saint Mary.  It was a benefit game to raise money for childhood brain cancer.  The ladies of the college team were paired up with the girls on Megan's team and they did a little pre-game ceremony where the girls got to hear their name called over the loud speaker and had a little scrimmage game at half-time.

Taking a photo with the ladies.

Megan paired up with her Mt. St. Mary player.

Running thru the tunnel of players before the game when they were saying her name over the loud speaker.

As soon as we got out of the car, you could feel the wind coming up off of the Hudson River.  There are no tall buildings to block it and it was a good 15 degrees colder than when we left the house.   After the introduction of the girls and the singing of the National Anthem,  we made a bee line for the school to keep warm since Megan's team wasn't going on the field again until half time.  There was a great view of the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge from where we were warming up.

We braved the cold again at half time.  Thankfully, the wind had died down a bit and we were having too much fun watching the girls play against each other to think about anything else.

Celebrating with her team and coaches after the scrimmage.

Every girl got a lacrosse ball as a souvenir after the game was over.

Team photo before it was time to go home.

Funny team photo before it was time to go home.  : )

I asked Megan how she felt playing on the field.  She told me she had so much fun that she forgot how cold she was.  She also told me she doesn't only love lacrosse.  She "adores" lacrosse.  I think her face above says it all.  : )

Tomorrow I take the first day of my two day photography class.  It's a long day that goes from 10 until 5.  I'm really looking forward to it and looking forward to shooting on "manual" a little more often!!

Happy rest of your weekend!!  xo

That looks like it was such good fun but I am rather glad that I no longer have to stand about on cold sports fields.....just once a year at Ruby's school sports day in July so at least it's warmer then.
Enjoy your photography course-x-

My youngest grand girl also adores LaCrosse--although I have never seen her play.
It seems to me like a hazardous game with sticks flying around and wops on the head?
Better than Rugby I suppose, which one of my grandsons played and I only attended one game because I feared death would appear on the field at any moment!!!
