Stella . . .

The neighbor's house this morning.

Buddha trying to keep his head above the snow.

Rapidly approaching a foot of snow.

Blowing snow.

My car.

Our front porch.  It's a covered porch but the wind is blowing the snow underneath the roof.

Curse you snow!!  Mr. Bigglesworth is not very happy that he can't go outside.  : (

Our chimney.

The back yard.

The yellow tie is marking off two feet.  That was the prediction for the county we live in.  The lawn chair and extension cord are for keeping the dogs from walking on the pool if it gets covered with snow.  Hubby put it all around the pool due to Brady walking into the pool during the last snow storm.

Our street is completely covered with snow.

Mailboxes.
Nor'easter Stella (now apparently we name snow storms) arrived a few hours earlier then expected last night.  When I woke up at three due to the insistence of my middle age bladder, there were already a couple of inches on the ground.  My husband woke up at 3:30 and thankfully made it to work safely.  He'll be there until probably tomorrow night.  We're blessed to be in our warm home, safe and sound, stocked with plenty of food and coffee.  The power is going strong and the firewood is stocked just in case.  Thank you for all of the kind words wishing us well.  Happy to say that all is well on the home front.  : )

Valentine's Day Just a Few Days Late . . .

On Tuesday (Valentine's Day)  I awoke to candy and flowers and a beautiful card waiting for me in the kitchen.  Thank you, my love.  : )  After I dropped Megan off at school I drove home wishing that I had my camera with me.  I haven't been taking many photos lately and I start to get a feeling of withdrawal when this happens.  The light was so pretty so my camera and I took a ride around town to see what caught our eye.  As usual, I wasn't disappointed.  We live in such a beautiful town and I took over 150 photos.  I went down by the river and into some little neighborhoods that I haven't been in before.  I thought I'd share a few of the hearts that I found scattered about.  My honey called me from work to ask if it was okay that he worked a few extra hours so that his co-worker that was coming in for the overnight shift could take his girlfriend out to dinner and score some points with her.  I remember those days of wanting to make the special occasions extra special.  We've been together for 11 years now. He makes me feel special and appreciated most every other day of the year.  He also knows I'm pretty much a sure thing.  No dinner and alcohol needed.  : )

Just Add Snow . . .

This has been such a strange winter in our parts of New York.  Not much snow.  Maybe six or seven inches all together.  30 degrees one day and 50 degrees the next.  Winter is my second favorite season.  Behind fall, of course.  : )

So we were very excited when the weather report called for snow last week.  The kids got a half day of school and Megan's adorable friend Genevieve came over for a play date.  At the first hint of snowflakes, those two bundled themselves up and headed outside into the winter wonderland that awaited them.

I love to watch Megan get lost in play.  I remember so vividly those days of tuning out the rest of the world and focusing only on the world of make believe.  That's what I use Pinterest and Instagram for now.  : )

We didn't get much more snow than what you see in these photos but it was the perfect amount for these two for sure!!

Today, we're off to Connecticut to visit with new friends.  My son has been playing Xbox with some kids for the last couple of years and they've become pretty close with each other.  We thought it would be fun if they all met in person.  Should be a wonderful day!!  : )

A Happy Girl and a Sunday Saying . . .

Well, the wait is finally over and this girl couldn't be any happier!!!  SNOW!!!!!

Our part of New York didn't get nearly as much as other parts did but it was still enough to make snow angels.

And it was still enough to help your snowman buddy make snow angels.  : )

All in all, we got close to three inches.  Just enough to make things look pretty.

And just enough to make this girl . . .

 . . . QUITE HAPPY!!!

Many blessings for a beautiful Sunday ~ Wendy

A Few Winter Photos . . .

Chubby squirrels, pretty winter birds, a very happy dog (who is driving his mom crazy wanting to go out and play every ten minutes!!)  and snowy train tracks on the way to school.  It's been so cold here but the creatures great and small don't seem to mind.  The days are noticeably longer and spring is just around the corner . . .

and I know one little girl who is ready for it!!!  A purple sparkly 'kini and a creamsicle.  She is soooo ready!!!  : )

Many blessings for a happy Thursday ~ Wendy
