God Bless the Inventor of Central Air . . .

And I mean that from the bottom of my heart!! Our little guy, Brendan, had a baseball game this morning. It started at 9:00 and it was already way too hot out there for man or beast. What a bunch of little troopers those players were!! They are mostly six and seven year olds so their skills are still at the beginning stage. They were taking 8 or 9 swings at a time and running the bases and no complaints were heard. There were several more games at the field today and I don't know how the players and/or fans are going to be able to deal with it. We were so spoiled with a lengthy spring this year. Until a few days ago, I was putting on a long sleeved shirt for the nighttime games and was very comfortable. It certainly was good while it lasted.

Last nite I attended my friend, Kim's, concert. What a wonderful job the Rockland County Choral Society did!! Bravo!!!! I had goosebumps several times between the soprano singing and the orchestra playing. It was fantastic!! Great job, Kim!! Kim has always wanted to sing and has been a vocalist in several local bands thru the years. She loves to sing kareoke and is dying for us to go to our local kareoke bar. I'm willing to do it but I have to have a few drinks in me first. Several years ago a bunch of friends and I went to a local bar in downtown Nyack. It was known for its flamboyant patrons as well as its fantastic food. One of my female friends and I sang "Summer Lovin'" from Grease. I had 7 or 8 Malibu Bay Breezes in me by that point. I started off singing John Travolta's part and by the end of the song I was singing Olivia Newton-John's part. Minor technicality!! We were a hit and that's when I got bit by the kareoke bug. But, like I said, only when I'm a tad intoxicated!!

Yesterday, my friends Mark and Julie stopped by with a bag of bracelets that my sister, Stephanie's, not-for-profit organization is selling. It's called S.O.S. which stands for "Supporting Our Stephanie." Isn't that a wonderful name?!!? The bracelets are selling for $5.00 a piece and, of course, all money goes to the fund for them. If anyone is interested please email me at wmcd67@aol.com and I'll be happy to get one to you. The flyers and posters for her upcoming fundraisers are all around and there are raffle tickets being sold as we speak. Her website, for anyone who wants to check it out, is http://www.supportingourstephanie.com/. It's a wonderful site and is packed with a lot of info regarding the upcoming events. Please pass this link along to anyone that you think is interested in it. Also, please feel free to send the link to this blog to anyone that might be interested as well. I know that there are family members and friends that read my blog just for Stephanie updates. I think it's a good thing because I know that some people have told me that they were afraid to ask me how she is doing. I actually love when people ask me how she is because I can tell them that she is doing extremely well, has a wonderful attitude about things and is living life to its fullest!! It doesn't get much better than that!!

I bought a couple of books in B.J.'s a couple of weeks ago. One of them is titled, "Live Like You Were Dying." This quote brought tears to my eyes and I thought I'd share it with you. Get used to the quotes. I LOVE LOVE LOVE quotes!!

"Tell a little girl with no front teeth that she is beautiful.
Ask an old man to tell you about the "good old days."
Be a big tipper. It feels good.
Don't fight tears. Let them win.
Just listen to a friend who needs to talk.
Give away something you have held dear.
Tell the little old lady with no front teeth she is beautiful.

Remind
your loved ones that they are loved.
your friends that they are the best.
your family that they are your lifeline.
yourself that you don't stop and say these things enough.

And a lot of times . . .
DON'T SAY ANYTHING at all.

Many blessings ~ Wendy

Hi Wendy, You had me giggling picturing you doing your version of Summer Loving! Good for you, I too would need a drink or ten. Like you, I prefer winter and autumn - can never make up my mind quite which - would settle for late autumn if pushed! Beautiful - earthy smells of damp leaves, wrapping up warm and going for walks, mushrooms everywhere... and the colours. I have a really great pal in NY, she is the manager of an Eileen Fisher store on Fifth Ave.

In answer to your question, R had two melanoma's removed - a mole (the primary) and a lymph node in his neck which came up as a lump (hence our initial awareness) Fifty nodes were removed at the same time - just the one came back as being affected. That was in February this year. This scan that we had to go over to Australia for is the first one since the op. Scary times, I love my husband fiercely, having met later in life we have been married just 8 years. He's my best pal, and I couldn't even imagine life without him. Love your online shop by the way! If you like you can check out my website www.riverdalefarm.co.nz - we have a small B&B. Definitely think you should look at spending those killer warm months over here!

Karoke rules! DH actually won a bottle of rum for a song he sang on our honeymoon. I got some major applause for singing The Way We Were.

Anywho, I am stealing your quote for my blog and to post on my Mom's board. I am honored to have you as a friend.

How about a picture of those bracelets? I'm glad your Sister is doing so well. I hope the progress continues. Have a great day.
