My Word . . .

A few years ago, I noticed some of my favorite bloggers were choosing a word for the new year that best described where they wanted to set their intention for the next 365 days.  One word.  I thought it might be difficult to come up with that one perfect word but then I realized making it perfect kind of defeated the purpose of why I chose just one word instead of making resolutions.  To me, making resolutions is setting yourself up for disappointment if you don't follow thru with them in the end.  So I sat here for a little bit this new year's day morning to see if anything popped into my head.  And it did.

My word for 2016 ~

The main definition of flourish is as follows . . .

verb: flourish;
(of a person, animal, or other living organism) grow or develop in a healthy or vigorous way, especially as the result of a particularly favorable environment.

So today I set my intention toward flourishing in 2016.  If you'd like to join me in choosing a word for this new year I'd love to know what you choose!!

Now I'm off to put the ham in the oven for friends and family coming for new year's lunch.  Kind of the last hurrah for the holiday season before we take the tree down and get back into some kind of regular routine for the first time in a couple of weeks.  Definitely bittersweet!!!

I'm wishing you joy and peace on this first day of the rest of your life ~ Wendy

What a fabulous word for the next year! Our New Year's Eve/New Years day was different than usual so we're behind on our usual traditions (like choosing our watchword for the year). Grace did suggest "harmony" so that may be it, we just need to make it official!

I am so sorry I have been so disconnected! Our computer has been down for the last three weeks and so I've been blogging from my phone, which is not nearly as easy or fun! I hope you'll stop by my space and see all we've been up to!

Happy 2016! xo

My word....actually it's three words. "Let it go." It's time to let go of the past and look ahead. :) And I look forward to seeing you flourish in this new year!
