There's a New Six Year Old in the House!! . . .

Waiting for the crowd to arrive with brother number three.

Our sweet and sassy baby girl turns six today!!  WHAAAAT??? We've been counting down the days since we turned our Walking Dead calendar to the month of May!!  It's been a loooooong 17 days!!!  : )  Megan said she wanted a rainbow themed bowling party so that is what she got on Saturday.  After all, it's not every day that a girl turns six you know!!

Wouldn't you love to know what these girlies were giggling about??  LOL!!  I love that Megan's friend Genevieve came to the bowling party in her Halloween costume!!  These new friends of Megan's are such a sweet bunch.  I'm so happy that she's fitting right in with them.  : )

These kids are adorable!!  Megan has been so lucky to have such a great bunch of kids in her kindergarten class.  The parents are all  friendly too.  It was nice to be able to get to know some of them better at the party.

Of course Megan's bff Cybele came and fit right in with everyone.  We hadn't seen Cybele and her mom/my friend Ophie in a couple of months.  It's just so crazy how quickly the time goes.

Trevor came for some bowling and pizza.  The boys were all very impressed that Megan had two big brothers at her party.  Brother number one is currently vacationing in Mexico.  Tough life, huh??

My love.

Meg's friend Colin getting the shake down.  I laugh every time I look at this!!!

All I can say is these kids are a bunch of characters.  Just look at those faces!!  Tonight we're going to our local diner with family as per Megan's request.  She's in love with one of the waitresses there and can't wait to tell her it's her birthday.  Thursday night we head down the mountain to have dinner with my father in law and Uncle Tom (my brother in law from my first marriage).  They've been in Ireland for the last two weeks and come home tomorrow.  The celebrating will continue throughout the week.  Such a lucky little girl to have so many people that love her.  She truly is our gift from above.  : )

Getting Back to Nature and a Sunday Saying . . .

I haven't been taking many outdoor photos lately so the other night I decided to take my camera with me when we took Megan to her gymnastics class.  There is just the beginning of a hint of spring in the air with the days getting longer and the energy starting to shift a bit.

This is a squirrel's nest in a tree outside of the gym.  I honestly have never seen so many squirrels' nests as I've seen since we moved to Cornwall on Hudson.  I'm going to start taking more photos of them so you can see what I mean.  : )

One of my most favorite things about photography is that I see things in such a different way thru my lens.  I never would've spotted the hint of a rainbow that I saw.  It was a very clear night with no rain in the area and yet there was this beautiful piece of a rainbow.  Can you spot it?

The above photo was not edited at all.  It was such a beautiful sunset that night.  Mother Nature truly is a master painter!!!  I've said it before and I'll say it again . . .

AMAZING GRACE!!!

We're having a little Super Bowl gathering later on.  I think most of us are rooting for Denver since he's Eli Manning's brother (the NY Giants' quarterback) and this could very well be the last game of his career before retirement.  When your team isn't in the Super Bowl it's definitely all about the food.  I went out yesterday and stocked up on chips, dips, shrimp, pigs in a blanket and all those other foods synonymous with the big game.  Add to that ribs, homemade mac and cheese, sloppy Joe's, potato salad and whatever else my sister's boyfriend is rustling up (it's so nice having a chef in the family!!) and you have the makings of a party!!!  : )

And now, your Sunday Sayings (I thought they went hand in hand quite well) . . .

Many blessings for a happy Sunday and a peaceful week ahead ~ Wendy

A Rainbow and a River View . . .

We've been busy with packing, back-to-school activities and tying up loose ends with the sale/purchase of the houses.  The Universe knows when you need a sign that things will be fine.  We got that sign in the form of a beautiful rainbow the other day while driving to my nephew's birthday dinner.  : )

I also wanted to share a photo of the view at the end of the road where our new house is. If this isn't incentive enough to walk around the block, I don't know what is.  This is why our town is called Cornwall-on-Hudson.

In a few weeks the foliage will be changing and my camera will be busy.  We hope to be in the new house by Halloween.  Still taking it one day at a time here though.  : )

Many blessings for a very happy Friday and a wonderful weekend ~ Wendy

Pictures from the Porch . . .

On Sunday, we took a drive to Cornwall to spend the day with my Mom.  It was such a beautiful day.  Unfortunately, a lot of it was spent indoors due to our love of New York Giants football.  Finally, at about the two minute warning, we gave up (they lost) and ventured out to the porch.

Can you tell who likes getting her picture taken and who doesn't???  : )

My mother's Newfoundland, Chloe.  The sweetest (and LARGEST) dog you'll ever meet.  : )

Chloe's brother, Seamus.  He is a rescue dog that my mother adopted from our local shelter.  So adorable!!

On our way home from Cornwall, we took a quick drive thru Cornwall-on-the-Hudson.  This is a town that we've fallen in love with and hope to be living in someday in the near future.  We're in the midst of taking the first steps toward making this happen.

As we made the turn to head home, this is what we saw . . .

Looks like a sign to me!!!  : )

Many blessings for a beautiful Wednesday ~ Wendy

Sunday Sayings . . .

"  If we don't ever take chances, we won't reach the rainbows.
If we don't ever search, we'll never be able to find.
If we don't attempt to get over our doubts and fears,
we'll never discover how wonderful it is to live without them.
If we don't go beyond difficulty, we won't grow any stronger.
If we don't keep our dreams alive, we'll wake up one day
and find that something else has taken their place . . .
and we won't have our dreams any longer.  "

Many blessings for a dream-filled Sunday ~ Wendy
